Choose a Wedding Headband – 4 reasons why you should
Why choose a wedding headband over all the other types of wedding hair accessories?
There are so many hair accessories to choose from, the choice can be a little overwhelming, especially if you really have no idea how you intend to wear your hair or whether you want something large with that wow factor or something subtle that gives you a sparkle of decoration but doesn’t detract from the main thing – YOU.
1st reason you should choose a wedding headband – they are super easy to position
Some hair accessories are a mystery, you can’t quite work out how they are supposed to go into the hair without a visit to Youtube and an evening of watching videos, which ends up an evening watching hair accessories and makeup tutorials. I know this because recently I became obsessed with seeing if my hair was long enough to put up with just a hair stick (aka a thin makeup brush) – turns out it’s a bit hit and miss, it could do with it being a little longer to work – Anyway back to the topic.
What I really love about headbands in particular is that you can’t put them in wrong! Remember the Vidal Sassoon phrase – wash and go, well headbands are the hair accessory equivalent – slip on and go.
2nd reason you should choose a wedding headband – they work with ALL hairstyles
To wear certain accessories you need to style your hair in a particular way. I think the best example of this is a traditional tiara . To pull of that look you need to add a bit of height on the crown. That bump serves as a backdrop for the tiara and helps balance the look out.
For hair pins you need to have some of your hair up for them to have something to anchor into, same with clips and slides. The only other bridal hair accessory that comes close to the wedding headband in this respect is the hairvine. However since there’s so much opportunity to create hairvines of different lengths and width, some need to be woven into the hair, other’s can be placed to the side or at the back.
The bridal headband is the queen of hair accessories when it comes to be unsure of how you’re going to wear your hair. Even if you only decide on your hair 2 days before your wedding, I can guarantee you, that you’ll be able to wear a headband in it.
3rd reason you should choose a wedding headband – it can double up as a tiara
Often you find that wedding headbands and tiaras are lumped together in the same category when you’re looking through online shops. There’s a reason for this, most headbands can be used as a tiara and some tiaras (only a few) can be used as a headband. Here at Wedding And Gems we’ve made the distinction between traditional tiaras (those that aren’t really suitable to wear as a headband) and wedding headbands . To wear a headband as a tiara, you just need to angle it like a tiara and not a headband. Here’s an image to show you the difference
4th reason you should choose a wedding headband – it can be worn again after the wedding
Since a headband is much less formal than a traditional wedding tiara, you’ve got the option to wear it again after the wedding. Whether this is to dress up a casual outfit or add a bit of sparkle to your christmas wedding party. You’ll find a use for it again, so it won’t just sit in it’s box, at the back of a shelf gathering dust, taking up space and not being admired like it should be.
