Last Monday I suggested ideas for decorating a popular bridal hairstyle that was doing the rounds on Pinterest, this weeks hairstyle was also found on Pinterest but it originated as a hair tutorial on . Meet Mimi with her Bridget Bardot inspired hairstyle, gorgeous isn’t she?
Now don’t worry if you’re hair’s not long enough to pull off this look. You can always add hair extensions like a lot of brides do on their big day. It also works on shorter hair too but I would recommend at least shoulder length hair. This type of style with volume at the crown works perfectly with tiaras and headbands. So I’ve selected a couple of my daintier ones to really let the gorgeous curls take centre stage.
Below is my Athena Wedding Tiara . I designed it a couple of years ago now, but it’s still very popular. I think that’s because of it’s size. At only 2 cm high it’s not overpowering and since it’s created with crystals, diamantes and pearls it will match all types wedding dresses.
Next I’ve chosen the Fae Wedding Headband . It’s got sparkling diamante and pearls along the band with delicate decoration to the side. This type of headband is also known as a side or asymmetrical tiara. Side tiaras have been huge over the last few years and are becoming more popular than the traditional type of wedding tiara.
And to show you how this tiara looks with a hairstyle similar to Mimi’s, here’s my sister in law – yes that orange in her hand is actually my daughters dummy.
My other suggestion for this type of bridal hairstyle is a long thin hairvine such as the
Emma Pearl Hairvine
below. That’s me in the photo with lots of makeup and my hair styled with hot rollers. Hot rollers are the only way I can get my hair to curl without it going too frizzy, but the curls only hold long enough for a photoshoot and they’re gone
Remember that I said earlier that this hair can be done with shoulder length hair? Well here’s an idea of what it would look like.
So as always I’d love to know which accessories from the shop you’d use to decorate this type of hairstyle. Pop over to the hair accessories section and post your links to your favourites below.
